      Birthday: May 4, 2000

Birthplace: Lismore, New South Wales, Australia

Australian actor Nicholas Hamilton vaulted to stardom in the United States on the strength of a sensitive performance in "Captain Fantastic" (2016), which led to roles in several major Hollywood features, including "The Dark Tower" (2017). Born May 4, 2000 in Lismore, New South Wales, Australia, Hamilton was initially a child model before deciding to pursue a career in acting. He began training for screen roles in 2011, shortly before landing his first significant screen role in the short film "Time" (2012). His performance as a boy who discovers the hidden and unfortunate truth about time travel earned him a Best Actor Award from the Australian short film showcase Tropfest, and was soon followed by his first television role on a 2013 episode of "Mako Mermaids" (Channel Ten, 2013-2016). In 2015, Hamilton made his feature film debut opposite fellow Australian talent Nicole Kidman and Hugo Weaving in the psychological thriller "Strangerland" (2015). The following year provided him with his breakout role, as the structure-craving son of rebellious Viggo Mortensen in "Captain Fantastic" (2016). The critically praised film earned Hamilton Screen Actors Guild and Young Actor Award nominations, but more significantly, launched his career in the United States. Hamilton was soon cast in two major American feature films: as the malevolent teenager Henry Lee Bowers in Andres Muschietti's feature-length adaptation of Stephen King's childhood terror tale "It" (2017), and as another school bully in "The Dark Tower," Nikolaj Arcel's adaptation of the first novel in King's epic-length fantasy series.
